This Privacy Policy explains how the Wait and Sea website (the "Site") collects, uses and protects information when you visit it or contact us. We keep data collection to a minimum and never sell your information.
Who we are
"Wait and Sea" is a privately owned vacation rental home in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, email us at hello@waitandseanmb.com.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the dates and party size you share, and your message.
- Analytics data. If you consent to cookies, our analytics provider collects standard, aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type. IP addresses are anonymized.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider automatically processes limited technical data (such as IP address and request time) to deliver and secure the Site.
We do not knowingly collect payment information on this Site. Bookings and payments are handled by Airbnb under Airbnb's own privacy policy.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and help you plan or book a stay.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it (only with your consent).
- To keep the Site secure and operational.
Legal bases (GDPR). We rely on your consent for analytics cookies; on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site; and on taking steps at your request (responding to your enquiry) prior to any booking.
Cookies & consent
The Site loads no analytics or advertising cookies until you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage for this Site, which will show the banner again. Strictly necessary functions may use local storage to remember your cookie choice.
Third parties & processors
- Cloudflare — website hosting and security.
- Google Analytics 4 — privacy-configured, consent-gated usage analytics with IP anonymization.
- Resend — delivery of contact-form emails to us.
- Google Fonts — serves the Site's typefaces.
- Airbnb — handles availability, bookings, payments and guest reviews when you follow a booking link.
These providers process data on our behalf or under their own policies; we share only what's necessary for each function.
Data retention
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting stay, and then deleted. Consent-based analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
- GDPR (EU/UK): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent or complain to a supervisory authority.
- LGPD (Brazil): confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization or deletion, portability, information about sharing, and revocation of consent.
- CCPA/CPRA (California): the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined.

International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
