Packing for a Second-Row Beach House
A short, practical list for a week at Wait and Sea — what to bring, what's already here, and what to grab once you're in town.
Packing for a beach week is an art: bring too little and you're running to the store, bring too much and you're hauling bags up the porch stairs. Here's the short version for a stay at Wait and Sea, where a lot of the basics are already covered.
Already at the house
You don't need to pack bed linens or bath towels — those are provided — and the kitchen is fully equipped, from the coffee maker to the pots and pans. There's central air, ceiling fans, smart TVs and WiFi, so leave the fans and the streaming sticks at home.
Bring from home
- Beach towels (separate from the bath towels)
- Reef-safe sunscreen and after-sun lotion
- A cooler and reusable water bottles for beach days
- Beach chairs or a shade tent if you like your own
- Flip-flops, swimsuits, and one light layer for breezy porch evenings
- Any specialty groceries or coffee you're particular about
Grab once you're in town
Do one grocery run at the start of the week, and pick up fresh local shrimp or fish for at least one dinner. Beach toys, boogie boards and umbrellas are cheap at the local shops if you'd rather not fly with them.
The barefoot rule
Because you're second row, the walk to the sand is short and you'll be in and out all day. Keep a towel by the door, rinse feet on the deck, and embrace a little sand — it's a beach house, after all.
Pack light, walk down, and let the week unfold.
